A recent batch at Alzu piggery reached a Total born of 17.4 per litter.
For the last quarter of 2025, 52% of the Alzu sow herd had a TB of 17 and more - with one litter reaching a 26 TB (and 26 BA).

What to aim for: – At 30 days pregnant, at least 85% of your sows should be in optimal condition. – Too thin = lower feed intake in lactation, poor piglet growth – Too heavy = increased risk of farrowing problems and poor rebreedingRegular checks = healthier sows, smoother farrowings, and faster rebreeding. It’s a small habit that pays big.
